Main area of interest is how I can explore, with new media / digital photography, our human & universal interconnectedness. This idea is too big at the moment and I need help to focus down to a specific line of enquiry…… any advice would be appreciated.

Photography has always explored human and universal interconnectedness. So digital does not break new ground in this sense. However, the ubiquity of cell phone cameras has resulted in images taken in situations where they would not have been taken when film ruled and there were fewer cameras. It’s not so much a question of digital having an impact. It’s the number of image-recording devices coupled with — and this is an equally important point — the ease with which these images can be distributed to the entire planet. The internet as a photo distribution medium is more significant in my opinion than cameras going digital.
